voyage crew helps groups plan trips together. To do that, we need to store a small amount of information about you and the trips you create. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do — and don't — do with it.
1. Who we are
voyage crew is operated as a prototype product. For privacy-related questions, contact nejc.marinic09@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
Account data
- Email address (required for sign-in)
- Display name (required)
- Password (stored hashed — never in plain text)
- Optional: profile photo, home city, date of birth
Trip data
- Destinations, dates, group size, budget, vibes, notes you add to a trip
- Your per-trip preferences (vibes, must-dos, avoids, dietary needs)
- Your votes on activities, dinners, nightlife, and accommodation options
- Trips you are a member of (creator or invited)
Technical data
- Session token (stored in your browser's
localStorage) to keep you signed in - Small caches of the current trip and your in-progress votes (also in
localStorage) — cleared when you sign out
We do not collect tracking pixels, advertising IDs, or third-party analytics. We do not fingerprint devices.
3. Why we collect it
- Run the app: authenticate you, load your trips, aggregate votes from all crew members.
- Generate itineraries: send your trip details (destinations, dates, vibes, ages) to an AI model so it can draft a plan.
- Fetch photos: look up Google Places photos for the venues in your plan.
- Keep things secure: detect abuse, stop spam, enforce trip access rules.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to power voyage crew. Data shared with them is strictly what's needed to deliver the feature:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your account, trips, and votes live here.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — generates your itinerary. We send the trip details and crew preferences (names, vibes, budgets, ages). We do not send email addresses or passwords. Anthropic doesn't train on your data by default.
- Google Places — resolves real venue photos and details. We send the venue name + city. No user data.
We do not sell personal data to anyone.
5. How long we keep it
Account and trip data are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all your trips, preferences, votes, and profile data are deleted within 30 days (backup retention).
6. Your rights
Under GDPR and similar regimes, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data (do this directly from your profile page)
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your trips (email us — we'll ship a JSON bundle)
- Object to or restrict certain processing

7. Children
voyage crew is not intended for anyone under 16. If we learn we've accidentally collected data from a child, we'll delete it.
8. Changes
If we meaningfully change how we handle data, we'll update this page and notify you via email. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the latest version.
